Eaton and Palisades Fires in Los Angeles
In early January 2025, two major wind‑driven wildfires, the Eaton Fire in the foothills above Altadena and the Palisades Fire in Pacific Palisades, ignited during an extreme Santa Ana wind event, rapidly becoming two of the most destructive wildfires in Los Angeles County history.
