Northern California: Mountain Fire in Shasta County northeast of Redding (Thursday, August 22nd, 2019)

Shasta County, CA: Mountain Fire now approximately 600 acres; prompting college evacuation and threatening 1,100 homes

Crews are battling a 600-acre blaze in Shasta County, the sheriff’s office said. The Mountain Fire sparked Thursday near Bear Mountain and Dry Creek roads, north of Bella Vista, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office said. The Shasta College main campus has been evacuated, officials said. An evacuation center has been set up at Crosspointe Community Church at 2960 Hartnell Road in Redding.
